Oklahoma City Engagement Shoot: Sarah and Cole
This Oklahoma City engagement shoot was such a fun day! Sarah and Cole are seriously two of my new favorite people and spending the afternoon with them was a blast. We shot their dressy look at The Colcord Hotel in Oklahoma City, and their casual in-home look at Sarah’s brother’s house in Nichols Hills. Before I get to the details of their shoot day, I HAVE to explain their wedding to you because it’s unlike anything I had ever heard of, much less photographed.
Sarah reached out to me through Instagram about shooting their engagements and potential wedding. I met Sarah and her fiance, Cole, at Flips for a glass of wine and we started chatting. Sarah and Cole quickly began to explain to me that they were doing something a little unconventional and that they were going to be throwing a surprise wedding…yes… SURPRISE WEDDING.
Both of their energies were so magnetic and I was giddy just hearing about the few details they had already decided. I was 100 percent in. I was sworn to secrecy and agreed that I would be able to hold this secret in as I was one of six people that knew the ‘plan’. Don’t worry, you can read all about the wedding here.
Jump to their engagement shoot and after just a few minutes of working with these two, I knew the images wouldn’t disappoint. Sarah and Cole are so in love and it shows. They were easy-going, though the drinks didn’t hurt, and having a great time. The bartender at FLINT, the restaurant inside The Colcord Hotel, was so fun and made sure to give them some of his advice as he was a newlywed himself.
The at-home session took place in Sarah’s brother’s home, which was insanely pretty. All the natural light and beautiful interiors, done by Ivy House Interiors, made for a photographer’s dream. Wine was poured and laughs were provided by Michael and Leah’s adorable kids.
We had the best time with this shoot and I hope to see these two again soon. Make sure you read about their wedding (linked above) because it was hands-down the coolest thing I’ll ever see.
